The Yarra has long had a reputation for its sparkling wines. Made in the traditional method from our single vineyard Chardonnay, it's aged for 3 years before disgorging, then a further 12 months before release. It's crisp, textural, and persistent.
Dominique Portet was instrumental in highlighting Australia's potential for sparkling at Clover Hill, Tasmania. That dedication continues with this highly acclaimed sparkling. It's light, fresh, and, as James Halliday notes, "A totally delicious and elegantly poised wine…"
Long regarded as Australia's first true Provence style - and arguably most successful - dry Rosé. Pale pink with ripe fruit, a creamy and generous mouthfeel, followed by lip-smacking acidity on the long, dry finish.
One of two Chardonnays we produce, it has a hint of oak, good acidity and poise. This modern style of Chardonnay balances freshness and crispness with fruit weight and texture for immense drinkability.
The fruit from our mature estate vineyard is accentuated by wild ferments, large French oak barrels, and a good proportion of Malolactic fermentation - giving our premium Chardonnay intensity, poise and complexity.
Barrel fermentation and lees stirring add complexity and texture, making this wine look more like a white Bordeaux than your typical new world Sauvignon Blanc. Citrus acidity, stone fruits, gunflint and honeycomb with great texture and mouthfeel.
Textbook, classic Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon - bright, fresh, and juicy. Plenty of concentrated red berry fruits and bramble, refreshing acidity and fine tannins give the wine a silky texture and a long finish.
Using fruit from the Yarra Valley's cooler subregions, this wine bursts with juicy, ripe red fruits, supple mouthfeel, and crunchy acidity. Medium-bodied, it's an easy-drinking, versatile red.
Grown from mature, high elevation, low-yielding vines in the cooler, most southern part of the Yarra Valley at Gladysdale to create an ethereal Pinot Noir that marries bright red fruits and subtle spice with a fleshy texture and a long, delicate, silky mouthfeel.
Medium-bodied and elegant, typical of Yarra Valley Shiraz with dark fruits lifted spice and meaty characters. The palate is plump and fresh with crunchy acidity, fine tennis and a long, elegant finish.
Elegance and structure define this Cabernet Sauvignon with a classic Yarra red fruit spectrum - raspberries, cherries, plums. Mineral notes of graphite/pencil shavings are framed by refreshing acidity and fine, silky tannins. An elegant and refined wine that will cellar impeccably.
The pinnacle of our wines and released only in exceptional vintages - this is the 5th. André - Dominique's father and Ben's grandfather - was the former Technical Director at Château Lafite-Rothschild. It celebrates this branch of the Portet family in the Yarra Valley while drawing on the past philosophies of Bordeaux.
