Winemaker’s
comments:
Fontaine is a
blend of two regions and three grape varieties. The regions are Yarra
Valley and Heathcote, and the varieties are Cabernet-Sauvignon, Shiraz
and Merlot.
Each has a part to play in the finished wine.
“The Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (42%) gives it bouquet and
character, the Merlot (20%) its softness and the Heathcote Shiraz (38%)
fills it with fruit, spice and sweetness”.
“The wine has elegance on the nose, softness on the palate, and power on
the finish.”
It is very approachable, ideally suited to the hearty flavours of autumn
and winter dishes.
Cellaring: up to 5 years.
Very enjoyable with risotto, osso buco and coq au vin.
